Challenge Lock
Building a simple challenge lock
In the locksport community on reddit, one requirement of moving to Blue belt is submitting a challenge lock. This is sleeper lock that you have modified to be harder than normal to pick. For mine I choose a common and easy lock often seen on American residential homes, the Kwikset.
I did my first one using the pins that were already in the lock with a standard drill, and it was hellish. Made my second using brass stock from Amazon and a dremel and it was a dream.

If you are unfamiliar with lockpicking, the idea is that perfectly cylindrical pins are easy to pick. So by adding all these shapes, I am making a much more difficult lock.
